A few examples of investible pitch decks I've written and designed.

Thrive

Raised £200k

As the Founder of startup Thrive, it was my responsibility to create the structure, content, and visual design for the deck. The main focus was on clarity and simplicity, ensuring that potential investors could easily understand the company's vision.

Weaving a clear and investable narrative using high-impact section pages followed by more granular information is a design pattern we've observed since. Thrive successfully secured a pre-seed co-investment of £200k from local VC Northstar Ventures and Kima Ventures.

GiveToLocal

Raised £300k

As Co-founder at GiveToLocal, I took the responsibility of developing a pitch deck for a friends and family round. We followed the successful design pattern and process from my previous raise at Thrive, creating a compelling and investible story.

The friends and family round was a resounding success, reaching the target of £300k in just over one month. Our investors were a diverse bunch, including coaches from grassroots game and former Premier League players.

Fintegrate

Raised £175k plus follow-on

Fintegrate started with an embryonic idea based on a spreadsheet Gurdit and Lee had used internally to manage their IFA firm. They wanted to evolve the Excel sheet into a standalone digital product but had zero background in software development or fundraising.

We began from scratch with a half-day discovery workshop and undertook market research to challenge some of their assumptions and confirm market opportunity. In collaboration with them, we gradually identified the core of their idea, designing and writing a successful pitch deck.

Slide presenting key features of Fintegrate's investment advice process, listing attributes like client portfolio creation, automated updates, risk profiling, and tools like financial planning calculators; designed for clear communication of firm offerings in a business presentation.
Slide showing a comparison of software costs for financial advisors, detailing current expenses for different tools versus the savings offered by the integrated software Fintegrate, demonstrating business efficiency improvement opportunities
Slide with a navy background showing a neon outline map of the UK, displaying statistics on financial advisory: 5,850 firms and 34,584 advisers in the UK
Slide showing six panels summarizing main issues in current software solutions for advisers, including fragmented workflows, misaligned software, high costs, and lack of structured processes in a teal and black color scheme

40Love

Round still open

Carl, from 40Love, approached me for support in refining his pitch deck. 40Love was a pre-revenue startup with an app that, though at an early stage, was starting to gain traction within a few health clubs. I had previously assisted Carl in raising funds for his other startup business, HRS.

Carl had been struggling with his deck, which was too long, text-heavy, and far too focused on the product, completely overlooking the investment opportunity. We significantly trimmed it, addressed gaps in the narrative, and designed a clean, concise pitch.

Green background with diagonally quilted pattern featuring a logo that says "4 LOVE" alongside a graphic of a stylized tennis ball, representing a sports or tennis-related theme.
Yellow background with white outlined illustration of a tennis racket and adjacent text discussing the growing popularity of a sport, highlighting the need for an inclusive online system to manage player demand.
Infographic showing the problems faced by clubs using fragmented systems; it highlights six key issues such as lack of common protocols for tournaments, severe privacy concerns with traditional record-keeping methods, and inefficiencies in managing multiple competitions.
Smartphone screen displaying the 40Love app interface for organizing and managing tennis matches with a featured female player and app settings for match configurations
Timeline graphic displaying the project's key milestones; Sept 2022 prototype launched, Dec 2022 beta version, Apr 2023 teams, box leagues and ladders, Jun 2023 knockout competitions, Aug 2023 events and social media, ending in Jan 2024 with TV presentation and shop.
Slide displaying the core team members of a company, each depicted within individual yellow circles showing their headshots, names, roles, and key qualifications; Carl as the CEO with experience in software development, Ajit as the COO with expertise in fundraising and capital markets, and Robin as the CMO with background in PR and marketing; includes a brief company description and arrow graphics illustrating teamwork dynamics.
